Not sure if this has been asked before, but We have two kids and Crime rate is something to consider — Carrollton sits at 129.1 per 100K. Homes are going for about $353,600 on average. Poverty rate is 5.3%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $99,115 in Carrollton. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Has anyone dealt with this? TIA! There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Moved here from Austin about 6 years ago. I genuinely enjoy living here. Still getting used to housing market but Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from LA about 15 years ago. The main reasons were family and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is average.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Feel free to reach out with questions..
