Raising a family in Carrollton — thoughts?

Hello, Household incomes average around $99,115 in Carrollton. Is this normal for Carrollton? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Chicago it's better than expected.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 4 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Oak Park for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The cost of living scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
