What to expect moving to Carrollton?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $99,115, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $353,600, which seems about average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Let me know your thoughts. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from San Francisco about 10 years ago. The main reasons were work and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is average.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Definitely worth checking out..
