Working remotely from Carrollton

My family moved here when I was a kid. Crime rate is something to consider — Carrollton sits at 129.1 per 100K. Poverty rate is 5.3%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Am I wrong here? It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Midtown. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Hope this helps!.
