Worst things about Carrollton nobody talks about

So, The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a data analyst, 52, moved here 11 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in Meadowbrook and East, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Strong job market in several industries
2. Close to major attractions
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The outdoor recreation situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for families. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- East: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is underrated in most areas.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The healthcare is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The healthcare is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in Downtown for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
- The nightlife scene is decent

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..
