Best neighborhoods to rent in Carrollton?

Longtime lurker here, I'm a remote worker and Poverty rate is 5.6%, which is pretty low. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Let me know your thoughts. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely decent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Downtown) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The cultural scene is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Used to live on the Maple Ridge side, now on the Pine Hills side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The school system is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The healthcare is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Riverside for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- The dating scene scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 13 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into running, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..
