OK so Average temperature is around 73--F, so it's warm year-round. Rent is about $1,512/month for a decent place. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Is this normal for Carrollwood? Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Midtown. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from LA about 5 years ago. The main reasons were weather and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are manageable, gas is pretty good.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
