What surprised you most about Carson?

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a 30-year-old project manager and Homes are going for about $645,600 on average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What would you do?

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely pretty good and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Midtown) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 1 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 3 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into running, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.
