Random thought, I'm a remote worker and Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Homes are going for about $370,200 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Carteret sits at 135.3 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Any advice would be great. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
