Cartersville is underrated, change my mind

Hi all, Military spouse here. Rent is about $1,194/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $298,000, which seems about average. You can expect to pay around $1,194 for rent here. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Good job market
- Easy commute
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Lack of diversity
- Poor road conditions
Would love some local perspective. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is excellent in most areas.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely improving and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Eastside) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Eastside area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much wild but now it's tough.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in East. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in construction. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'm a physical therapist and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in South. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in finance. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Hope this helps!.
