Moving to Cary with kids -good idea?

Crime rate is something to consider -Cary sits at 45.1 per 100K. Rent is about $1,456/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 17,875 people. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in tech. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
