Anyone else love living in Cary?

My family moved here when I was a kid. Median household income is $129,399, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider — Cary sits at 66.1 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely solid and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Westside) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Austin it's excellent.
