Couple moving to Cary from out of state

So, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. With a population of 177K, Cary is a mid-size city. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Is this normal for Cary? Cheers. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Atlanta about 2 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Bought a house here in 2020 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

I work in healthcare here and I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market for my field is challenging. No regrets on my end..
