What surprised you most about Cary?

Curious what people think. Been living here since 2006. The median home value here is around $525,200, which is pretty steep. Homes are going for about $525,200 on average. Crime rate is something to consider — Cary sits at 66.1 per 100K. Poverty rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What would you do? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 7 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into running, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..
