Unpopular opinion about Casa Grande

Been living here since 2012. You can expect to pay around $1,315 for rent here. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Is this normal for Casa Grande? Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The cultural scene is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Houston it's tough.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a HR manager, 52, moved here 3 years ago from San Francisco. I've lived in Downtown and East, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The public transit situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for retirees. average vibes, walkable.
- East: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Francisco, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in West for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The public transit scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..
