So, Median household income is $81,041, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 70--F, so it's warm year-round. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Am I overthinking this? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Lakewood. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in legal. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 9 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

I'm a physical therapist and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Uptown for 10 years. Moved from LA for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. tech is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is pretty good - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Uptown schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not a lot of cultural diversity. Can feel isolated. And cost of living can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 6/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
