How much do you pay for rent in Cashmere?

Curious what people think. Crime rate is something to consider -Cashmere sits at 192.0 per 100K. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Moved here from New York about 6 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to housing market but Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 1 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Boston about 3 years ago. The main reasons were work and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is excellent.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a writer, 47, moved here 4 years ago from Denver. I've lived in West and Downtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Nightlife is limited
3. The safety situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for young professionals. decent vibes, walkable.
- Downtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Denver, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $70K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I work in construction here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is underrated. Definitely worth checking out..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely underrated and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
