Relocating to Casper, WY -pros and cons?

Hey everyone, Rent is about $964/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 8.4%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. Am I wrong here? Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Eastside. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in engineering. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
