Is Castle Pines Village getting better or worse?

My family moved here when I was a kid. Homes are going for about $1,260,200 on average. Poverty rate is 4.1%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Castle Pines Village sits at 75.6 per 100K. The median home value here is around $1,260,200, which is pretty steep. With a population of 4,441, Castle Pines Village is a small town. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Pros:
- Good schools
- Diverse community
- Easy commute

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Cold winters
- Sprawl everywhere
- Lack of diversity
Should I be concerned? Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in West. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 7 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
