Couple moving to Castle Rock from out of state

Curious what people think. I'm originally from Houston and Crime rate is something to consider -Castle Rock sits at 44.6 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. What do you all think?

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.
