Moving to Castle Rock with kids -good idea?

Been meaning to ask this. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. Should I be concerned?

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Meadowbrook area are excellent. Kids love it here.
