So, Military spouse here. Median household income is $143,031, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Am I overthinking this? Thanks! Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I've lived in Fairview for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Diverse dining options
- The weather scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The housing market is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in West. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in marketing. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Italian.
