Moving to Castro Valley with kids -good idea?

Been living here since 2011. Poverty rate is 4.8%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $1,058,200, which is pretty steep. The unemployment rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Castro Valley sits at 394.6 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Is this normal for Castro Valley? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is traffic. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.
