Rent is about $2,499/month for a decent place. Median household income is $138,069, which feels pretty solid for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Thanks! People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Seattle about 13 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is tough.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Houston about 6 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

I've lived in East for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions
- The job market scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in The Heights area are average. Kids love it here.
