Working in Castro Valley -salaries realistic?

OK so Born and raised here. The median home value here is around $1,058,200, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. Rent is about $2,499/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $1,058,200 on average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Thoughts? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Used to live on the Riverside side, now on the Lakewood side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Came here for work and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The school system is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
