Housing in Castroville compared to Los Angeles

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Rent is about $1,184/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 3,027 people. Average temperature is around 71--F, so it's warm year-round. Median household income is $76,524, which feels about average for the area. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Would love some local perspective. TIA! The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Definitely worth checking out..
