Housing in Cataño zona urbana compared to Atlanta

Hello, Homes are going for about $134,700 on average. Household incomes average around $24,307 in Cata--o zona urbana. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Has anyone dealt with this? Thanks in advance! The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a social worker, 36, moved here 3 years ago from Houston. I've lived in East and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Lots of new development happening
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Can feel isolated
3. The healthcare situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for remote workers. improving vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Houston, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $90K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Atlanta about 13 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is underrated.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Baltimore it's improving.
