Alright, I'm a college student here and Median household income is $67,031, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,554 for rent here. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Should I be concerned? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The housing market is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 9 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've been here 9 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much stable but now it's solid.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
- The cost of living scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Definitely worth checking out..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Greenfield for 1 years. Moved from San Diego for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.
**Employment:**
government is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is decent - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Rising rent and home prices. And safety can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 8/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
