So, The median home value here is around $348,000, which seems about average. Household incomes average around $63,789 in Cedar City. With a population of 37,202, Cedar City is a smaller city. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a real estate agent, 53, moved here 9 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in Highland and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Good healthcare facilities
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The job market situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Highland: Great for retirees. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $100K-$70K here.
**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in Old Town area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.
