Living in Cedar City -the reality

Hey folks, I'm a teacher here and Poverty rate is 9.0%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Cedar City sits at 276.7 per 100K. With a population of 37,202, Cedar City is a smaller city. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What are your go-to spots? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Came here for retirement and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The food scene is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
