Remote worker thinking about Cedar Hill

Been meaning to ask this. Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate.

Moved here from Salt Lake City about 9 years ago. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Still getting used to cost of living but No regrets on my end..

Bought a house here in 2016 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

I've lived in Old Town for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- The nightlife scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. No regrets on my end..

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 5 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.
