Quick question about Cedar Lake

First post here. I'm a teacher here and You can expect to pay around $1,209 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 14,686 people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Would love some local perspective. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
