Things that make Cedar Lake unique

Longtime lurker here, Poverty rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Am I overthinking this? The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Active local events and festivals
- The walkability scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..
