Weekend activities in Cedar Lake?

Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. It's a a small town city with about 14,686 people. The unemployment rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Does this match your experience? Cheers. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Uptown. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in finance. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
