Not sure if this has been asked before, but We have two kids and Rent is about $1,780/month for a decent place. The suburbs are where most families end up. What do you all think? Thanks in advance! It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Used to live on the Springfield side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Greenfield. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like seafood.
No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Greenfield area are decent. Kids love it here.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
