Anyone work in healthcare in Cedar Rapids?

Alright, The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Any advice would be great. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The community vibe is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The walkability is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Fairview for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- The weather scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
