How much do you pay for rent in Cedar Rapids?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I grew up here but left for a while. With a population of 137K, Cedar Rapids is a mid-size city. Rent is about $925/month for a decent place. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cheers. I've lived in South for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Four distinct seasons
- The school system scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
