Best companies to work for in Celina?

Curious what people think. Median household income is $66,142, which feels about average for the area. Poverty rate is 7.5%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. What do you all think? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Denver about 5 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is pretty good.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a nurse, 34, moved here 15 years ago from Austin. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Oak Park, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Decent public transit for the size
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The cultural scene situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for couples. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Oak Park: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $60K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Came here for school and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The healthcare is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely decent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Uptown) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely better than expected and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely underrated and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Riverside) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 9 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into running, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
