Planning a move to Celina -neighborhoods?

I'm a teacher here and The unemployment rate is 2.0%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Is this normal for Celina?

I've been in Westside for 11 years. Moved from Pittsburgh for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is average - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Westside schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Can feel isolated. And food scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a sales manager, 34, moved here 12 years ago from Baltimore. I've lived in Fairview and South, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Can feel isolated
3. The traffic situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Fairview: Great for remote workers. challenging vibes, walkable.
- South: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Baltimore, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**

I've lived in Riverside for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- The school system scene is improving

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 6 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much growing but now it's solid.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Eastside. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in legal. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (The Heights) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
