Centereach is underrated, change my mind

Hey everyone, Just moved here 12 months ago and Median household income is $127,106, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Centereach sits at 22.0 per 100K. With a population of 31,501, Centereach is a smaller city. You can expect to pay around $2,398 for rent here. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Low crime in most areas
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Rising rent prices
- Limited dining options
- Far from major airports
- Limited cultural events
Thoughts? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much established but now it's average.
