I'm a teacher here and Rent is about $2,398/month for a decent place. With a population of 31,501, Centereach is a smaller city. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Am I wrong here? Night life is decent if you know the right spots.
