Why I chose Centerville over bigger cities

Random thought, I'm single, late 30s, and Crime rate is something to consider -Centerville sits at 63.2 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,182 for rent here. Poverty rate is 8.3%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Pros:
- Diverse community
- Good healthcare facilities
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Rising rent prices
- Lack of diversity
It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 10 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is improving in most areas.
