We're a young couple and Homes are going for about $212,800 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,027 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 0.7%, which is pretty low. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Cedar Grove. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Southern.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great BBQ places. it's been a really good experience overall.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
