Rent vs buy in Centerville -what makes sense?

Hello, Median household income is $66,912, which feels about average for the area. Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. You can expect to pay around $1,027 for rent here. Rent is about $1,027/month for a decent place. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- The weather scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Rising rent and home prices

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Old Town. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in legal. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Definitely worth checking out..
