I'm a college student here and With a population of 22,481, Central Falls is a small town. It's a a small town city with about 22,481 people. The suburbs are where most families end up. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Lakewood. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Italian.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries
- The healthcare scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 10 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value weather, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely pretty good and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Midtown) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
