Best areas to explore in Central Islip?

Random thought, Would love some local perspective. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the The Heights side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Bought a house here in 2019 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
