Longtime lurker here, I'm originally from Los Angeles and Poverty rate is 12.9%, which is around average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Worth the trade-offs? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
