Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm originally from Atlanta and It's a a small town city with about 12,009 people. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Median household income is $47,308, which feels on the lower side for the area. With a population of 12,009, Centralia is a small town. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Should I be concerned? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Sunset area are challenging. Kids love it here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value traffic, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely improving and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Sunset) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The nightlife is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Used to live on the Westside side, now on the South side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Bought a house here in 2019 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

I've lived in West for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good internet infrastructure
- The housing market scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much stable but now it's average.
