I'm a remote worker and You can expect to pay around $1,003 for rent here. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

So, I'm originally from Charlotte and It's a a small town city with about 18,457 people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.
