Alright, We're a young couple and The unemployment rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 4.8%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Any advice would be great. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 9 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from LA about 13 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is excellent.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Phoenix about 14 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Nightlife is limited
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is solid.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Oak Park area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The dating scene scene is improving
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..

I'm a sales manager and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is average and there's always something going on.
